
Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Davenport is a board certified Therapeutic Optometrist. He graduated from Abilene Christian University and went on to graduate from University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Davenport has been in private practice in Sugar Land since 1991, specializing in contact lenses and laser vision correction procedures. As a contact lens specialist, Dr. Davenport is experienced in fitting both rigid gas permeable and soft lenses for patients with post-surgical, keratoconic, bifocal, astigmatic and other difficult to fit prescriptions.

As a contact lens specialist, Dr. Davenport is experienced in fitting both rigid gas permeable and soft lenses for patients with post-surgical, keratoconic, bifocal, astigmatic and other difficult to fit prescriptions. He is also trained in the use of CRT, a procedure in which a contact lens is worn overnight to reshape the cornea to allow clear vision throughout the day without the use of glasses or contacts. Dr. Davenport is certified to provide pre and postoperative care for many ocular surgeries including cataract and laser vision correction (LASIK). Dr. Davenport is a member of both the Texas Optometric Association and The American Optometric Association since 1991. He and his family are active members of First Colony Church of Christ. He is also a long time member of the Sugar Land Rotary club. Being an avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoys water sports.

Dr. Joy Rosner first qualified as an optometrist from the University of Wales (UK) where she later taught for five years before coming to the University of Houston on a year sabbatical. At the University of Wales she specialized in ocular disease, but while at the University of Houston Dr. Rosner became interested in the development of vision in infants.

At the University of Wales she specialized in ocular disease, but while at the University of Houston Dr. Rosner became interested in the development of vision in infants. Subsequently, she joined the Optometry faculty at UH where she focused on children’s vision problems and published many research papers and two books in corroboration with her husband Dr. Jerome Rosner. Although she now conducts a general practice, seeing all age groups, she continues her special interest in children, including infants, children with binocular vision problems, amblyopia and vision problems particularly as they relate to school learning difficulties. Dr. Rosner also works with adults who have binocular vision problems.

FAAO Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Matthew Rosner earned his doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2015. After graduation, Dr. Rosner completed a residency in ocular disease and refractive surgery at the Eye Center of Texas where he gained vast experience in treating and managing ocular infections and diseases. He is also experienced in co-managing refractive procedures such as LASIK, PRK, Visian ICL, and cataract surgeries. In private practice, Dr. Rosner is accomplished at fitting all kinds of contact lenses from soft, to gas permeable, to scleral, and even orthokeratology lenses. Dr. Rosner is also a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, maintains involvement with the Harris County Optometric Society, the Texas Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association, and is a member of the Gold Key International Optometric Society.

Dr. Matthew Rosner was born and raised in Sugar Land, Texas, and is the son of Dr. Joy Rosner. He attended Dulles Elementary, Middle, and High schools. He then enrolled and graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Rosner is married with two children, Graham and Charlie. Always an avid sports fan, he roots hardest for the Aggies and the Astros; he spends what free time he has playing golf and tennis!

Dr. Salchak attended the University of Houston College of Optometry and graduated with a Doctor of Optometry degree in 1988, and is a certified Therapeutic Optometrist. He has been in private practice since 1991, and is licensed to treat ocular diseases including glaucoma. Dr. Salchak is also certified to provide pre and post operative care for cataract and LASIK patients. He specializes in advanced procedures such as hard to fit contact lenses, astigmatism, and first time users of contacts. In addition, he is trained in Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT), which is a corneal reshaping technique used to control myopia. He also fits scleral contact lenses for both regular and irregular shaped corneas. Dr. Salchak has been a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association since 1984.

Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Alice Thai is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist who completed her Doctorate of Optometry at University of Houston College of Optometry in 2020. She was born in Missouri City, TX, but raised in Pearland, TX. She completed her Bachelors of Science and Arts in Biology at The University of Texas at Austin in 2016. Dr. Thai had a wide spectrum of training in primary eye care, specialty contact lenses, dry eye disease, myopia control, glaucoma, pediatrics, specialty needs, and ocular disease. She is a member of both the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Aside from her passion in optometry, Dr. Thai enjoys spending time with her husband and her daughters, Lina and Vivy. She also enjoys traveling, hiking, and water sports (particularly swimming and water polo).

Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Truc Nguyen attended University of Houston for her undergraduate degree in Biology and Psychology. She earned her doctorate degree at University of Houston College of Optometry in 1995. She has a vast experience in fitting different types of contact lenses and treating various ocular infections as well as glaucoma. Her love for God, people and optometry leads her to missionary work in Guatemala annually where she provides eye exams for those in remote rural areas of Guatemala. Dr. Nguyen is an active volunteer at her church and enjoys spending precious time with family and friends. She loves visiting the state and national parks.
